The reason I uploaded this document is after buying "The NeXT Book" this weekend at the mall, I got the urge to design some folder icons like the NeXT has. They look like those brown accordian-style folders with little leather straps on them. I did the best I could with my SE (maybe I will add some color (cicn's) at one of the computers at work...). Also, using these icons in conjunction with WindChooser, the Black Hole icons, and all of the new controls, etc. people are designing, you should have a pretty decent desktop that would make Steve Jobs proud.
This ResEdit 1.2 file contains duplicates of my Finder's ICN# and SICN resources. All you should have to do is copy these resources and paste them into your Finder (i'm using version 6.1. If you aren't using that version, you may have to some more work, like copying and pasting each individual icon).
I redesigned each folder icon. Therefore, the plain folder is simply plain (ooh, how about that). The system folder has a gray strap. The Appleshare folders (drop and "owner') also are included: the drop folder has an arrow floating above the folder (just like the old folder) and folders you "own" or created have a black tab (where the strap would be bound).
It's a shame that the SICN's were hard-coded into the Standard File Package. Otherwise, I would have done those too.
